Please click the link below to see our adoptable horses. We have horses for adoption, leases on our farm and sponsorships. Once our rescues are rehabilitated, they are evaluated for soundness for riding. Pasture Buddies are those who are no longer suitable for riding, but who make wonderful companions for other horses. Rehabilitated horses who are found sound for riding will be matched with an adoptive owner depending on the type of riding the owner plans to do.
When our horses arrive at our equine rescue, they're given a complete medical examination to determine their rehabilitation and treatment plan. As a 501(c)(3) family run nonprofit, we are always in need for financial donations. Our rescues currently undergoing rehabilitation have significant expenses including medical, farrier and dental services. Every expense for every horse adds up.
We are always looking for financial sponsors for our horses in rehab. A sponsor helps cover the expenses for the horse and is also given the first opportunity to adopt that horse once the rehabilitation is complete.
Sometimes life presents difficult circumstances and horse owners are no longer able to care for their beloved horse(s). For these challenging cases, you may reach out to FSS to see if we are able to intake any surrenders at that time. To be considered, please fill out the form below and email us: februarystarsanctuary@gmail.com.
Horses can live a long time. Some breeds can easily live into their 30s! Have you thought about what will happen to your horse, if anything happens to you?
Below are some resources to help you plan for who cares for your horse. If you plan ahead and are in contact with us FSS can be a resource, but there are many options.
How to Make Sure Your Pet is Cared for, After You Die
Do you love horses? Kitties? Are you compassionate about our mission at February Star Sanctuary?
Perhaps you will consider making a "Legacy Gift." Most people do not know that they can create a "legacy gift" or "planned gift" as they prepare their final wishes.
