Events at the Sanctuary

As many of our supporters know, we lost our beloved Indy this year at the old age of 33. She lived a long, happy life and taught so many people at our sanctuary, including our very own Addison Smith, who is now taking on the collegiate rodeo world. In honor of Indy, we’ll be hosting a youth program between June 15 – 19, 2026, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.. This awesome program will include nature walks and exploration, grooming, outdoor games (e.g., scavenger hunts), painting/drawing, swimming, fun time with cats and of course, horseback riding. We’ll even hand out awards at the end of the week! 

The total cost of the program is $245, with $50 due to hold your spot and the remainder due 30 days before June 15, 2026. There are only 12 spots available, so reserve your child’s spot, soon. If you have any questions, please text Addison Smith at (240) 440-3297.

Need a break from the kids this summer? Want some fresh air and fun? Come to the sanctuary June 27 – 28, 2026, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.! Our very own Addison Smith will be teaching horsemanship and of course, horseback riding. Addison is a champion rider and experienced trainer who is now competing in collegiate rodeo at the University of Kentucky. 

All of our horses are rescues, which means you not only get to spend the day with awesome horses, you get to learn about the rescue process, too. 

This 2 day event is only $175/person, with $50 due to hold your spot and the remainder due 30 days before June 27, 2026. All proceeds will go directly to the continued training of our rescue horses to better their adoption prospects. There are only 6 spots available so don’t wait to reserve yours!
